main electrical panels and the requirements:
1) City of San Jose always requires an electrical permit for upgrading main service panels.
2) Owners themselves can obtain an electrical permit. You don't have to be a licensed electrician
San Jose or another city to obtain an electrical permit.
3) In most cases, load calculations are not necessary. If you have doubts please contact MGM
Electric or by calling San Jose inspectors at (408) 535-3555.
4) City of San Jose does NOT require an independent bonding jumper to the hot water piping.
